Registration Tips:

  • Access to explore.wspr.ca and ALL bookable programs may start in a virtual waiting room.
    When it's your turn in the queue, you will be directed directly to the website to proceed with your registration.
    If the system is not overwhelmed, the queue will not be activated.

  • View the Intelli Help Section and the (i) button in top menu bar of your registration account for more information.

Troubleshooting:

  • Waitlist issues: If you experience any issues being put on a waitlist, please call reception at 250-478-8384 for help in processing.
  • Receipt processing: Please be aware that during these times, transactions can take up to 24 hours to complete and for receipts to be emailed.

Pottery

Pottery information can be viewed using the drop-down menus below. To register in a course, studio orientation, open studio time or drop-in pottery, or to purchase clay, please scroll down and click on the appropriate icon.


Open Studio Time participants must have pottery experience (equivalent to two sets of pottery classes), be able to work independently in the pottery studio and have taken or are registered in a pottery orientation class.

Open Studio Time participants must read all documents in the Required Readings section below prior to their first session at the studio.

Open Studio Time hours (registration required and is available in 2-month blocks):

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 3:00 - 6:00 PM
  • Wednesdays and Fridays: 2:00 - 5:00 PM
  • Wednesdays and Fridays: 6:00 - 9:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 1:00 - 4:00 PM
  • Sundays: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Sundays: 2:00 - 5:00 PM

*There is no drop-in pottery available during open studio time.

Drop-in Pottery participants must have pottery experience (equivalent to two sets of pottery classes), be able to work independently in the pottery studio and have taken or are registered in a pottery orientation class.

Open Studio Time participants must read all documents in the Required Readings section below prior to their first session at the studio.

You must purchase a "10X Visit Pass" which will be valid for use during the season (i.e. Sept-Dec or Jan-April). All visits must be used during this time. You cannot carry visits to the next season. The "10 Visit Pass" is only valid during the drop-in hours listed below.

Drop-In Pottery Hours

  • Mondays: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 5:00 - 8:00 PM

*Drop-in Pottery "10X Visit Pass" is not valid for Open Studio Time.

Please send your request for private or semi-private lessons to llehive@wspr.ca and indicate the number of classes, preferred dates/times and what you are looking to learn/create.

Join our experienced pottery instructor for a customized pottery lesson. Whether you’re a beginner wanting to try throwing on the wheel or hand building, or an experienced potter looking for more advanced techniques, our instructor can guide you through a wonderful lesson.

Private lessons: $59 per hour
Semi-private lessons (up to 3 people): $79 per hour

For beginners, we recommend starting with 5 hours (Two 2-hour classes and one 1-hour class for glazing). We offer classes on Sundays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and Wednesdays 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.


  • $50 for a ½ box, includes firing and glazes (non-refundable)
  • $20 per bag of recycled clay, includes firing and glazes (non-refundable)

Clay can be purchased online through our website, at Reception in-person or by calling 250-478-8384. Proof of purchase is required to retrieve your clay.

Only clay purchased through West Shore Parks & Recreation can be used in our pottery studio.


You will be contacted via email 3-6 weeks after your class ends and will be given a designated time to pick up your items. Please ensure your email address is accurate on your WSPR account.
