December 19th at 6AM: School age/adult/private aquatics lessons

Please be aware that during these times, transactions can take up to 24 hours to complete and for receipts to be emailed.

Registration Tips:

1. How to speed up your registration process? Prior to registration day, please ensure each family member is added to your account by choosing ‘my groups’.
2. Does creating duplicate accounts increase your chance of registration? No, it doesn’t, instead, both parents may register their children into programs from one account by logging in with the owner’s email and password, on multiple devices.
3. What to do if you experience a payment error after entering your credit card information? Please note that your basket will hold your spot. Staff will be monitoring baskets and will contact you, should your payment need to be manually processed.

Weightroom & Fitness Studio

The Weightroom & Fitness Studio is located in the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre at 1767 Island Hwy in Colwood, BC.

Fitness Studio:

The fitness studio is a multipurpose activity room that offers a space to hold active programs, workshops and special events. The space is primarily used by WSPR to offer fitness & wellness programs, small group classes and personal training. It is available to book when not in use by West Shore Parks & Recreation.

Typical events held in this space include:

  • Group fitness classes
  • Specialized classes
  • Small group training & personal training
  • Active space for members


The weightroom is a comprehensive workout facility for individuals to meet their exercise needs. It is fully accessible with automatic doors and wide aisles.

Patrons, 16 years and up are welcome at all times. Ages 13-15 years require weightroom orientation.

The weightroom offers a variety of equipment, including:

  • Matrix and Precor brand treadmills, elliptical machines, upright and recumbent bikes, Climbmill step machine, spin bikes, air assualt bike, rowing machines and more!
  • Atlantis strength training equipment
  • NuStep recumbent cross trainer
  • Free weights from 5-120 pounds
  • Cable cross functional trainers
  • Squat racks and bench press
  • Designated stretching and strength training zones
